How to validate without wasting time?

I'm working on a new SaaS and i know that you need to ship fast, learn fast.

However, do i need to validate before i start building my SaaS?

I'm wondering if i should:

Build a landing page and waitlist first, or
Go straight to building the MVP?

Any feedback on what worked for you would be appreciated 🙏

Here's my rule of thumb: If it takes you > 1 month to build the MVP, then go with a LP and waitlist first, to validate and refine your positioning. If it takes you < 1 month to build the MVP, then ship MVP first, to save time on reaching out to people and growing your waitlist.
